Using FDA-approved dermal fillers we can restore or add volume to the face and lips, lift and contour the face, create symmetry, and fill in lines or deep folds.

Dermal fillers can be used to fight the signs of ageing on the cheeks, lips, nose and tear trough. They perform exceptionally well, due to their high levels of Hyaluronic Acid – a naturally occurring skin component that is injected into the desired area. Retaining up to a thousand times its weight in water, a dermal filler treatment can lift the treated area to give you a more striking appearance.

The Hyaluronic Acid also increases the skin’s elasticity by boosting collagen production. Requiring optimum precision and skill, this treatment is safe and minimally invasive. Results can be seen immediately, with little to no downtime.

The results can last up to 24 months, depending on the filler used and the areas being treated. Over time the body will naturally break down the dermal filler which is safely reabsorbed by the body and the results will fade.

If you are interested in a dermal filler treatment, please book in for a no-obligation consultation.

Which Areas Can Be Treated With Dermal Fillers?

V

✓ soften the lines around your eyes

✓ improve the under-eye area (tear troughs)

✓ Improve the sagging skin around the eyelid

✓ add fullness to your cheeks

✓ lift the facial skin for a more defined look

✓ contour your chin and jawline

✓ reduce the lines that run from your nose toward the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds)

✓ reduce the lines that run from the corners of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines)

✓ soften and smooth lines around the mouth

✓ add volume and definition to plump your lips

✓ improve the appearance of old-looking hands.

Dermal fillers can be used to plump, reshape and improve the symmetry of your lips. We aim to create beautiful, natural-looking lips and may suggest several treatments so we can achieve the lips you desire.

Whatever your needs, I will take the time to discuss your needs and explain the process. Rest assured we use only the best dermal fillers which have been tried, tested and approved by the FDA.

Reduce Nasolabial Folds With Dermal Fillers

Nasolabial folds are prominent lines that extend from the nose to the corners of the mouth. If you are unhappy with your appearance, dermal fillers can be applied into these folds to smooth the area.

We may also recommend dermal fillers in the cheeks to give structure to the skin and further enhance your look.

Reduce Under-Eye Darkness & Bags

Developments in advanced aesthetics mean eye bags and dark circles can now be remedied in under an hour.

Also known as non-surgical eye-bag removal, tear trough treatments focus on the depressions and droopiness that can appear under the eyes as we age.

A hollowing of the eyes can also result in the formation of shadows and dark circles, making the face look tired. In younger women, dark circles can be caused by hereditary pigmentation under the eye, as well as lifestyle factors, including lack of sleep.

The results of dermal filler treatments for tear troughs are instant and can last for up to 12 months, giving you a more refreshed appearance.

Cheek Fillers

Dermal filler for the cheeks works to plump the area to offer a fresher, brighter look. An entirely normal problem, sunken cheeks are the result of our genetics, as well as the natural ageing process.

Contouring the cheeks and restoring lost volume for a plumper appearance, cheek fillers at CPAesthetics may help to renew your confidence and make you look younger and fresher.

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines are the folds that extend from the corners of the lips towards the chin. We can smooth out this area with dermal fillers and may suggest combining these with anti wrinkle treatments.

Lip Lines

Perioral lines or smoker's lines are the fine lines that appear around the outer edge of your lips. Dermal fillers can smooth these fine lines and hydrate the area. Many clients also opt for lip fillers to restore volume to the upper lip.

Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-23292742665761894182023-06-23T03:45:00.000+00:002023-06-25T16:33:12.658+00:00Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Gone are the days where people sit raising an eyebrow at you as they wonder why you can't raise yours - today, with more advanced techniques, wrinkle and anti-ageing treatments give far more subtle anti-ageing results.

Wrinkle and anti-ageing treatments are a great way to minimise the appearance of the first (or more advanced) signs of ageing.

And it doesn't just end there - the results that can be produced with this treatment are constantly evolving. More recently we have added the 'Nefertiti Neck Lift' to our list of uses, which is great for anyone who wants to look younger in the neck and jaw area.

Anti-wrinkle treatments are one of our most sought after treatments, with clients coming back for regular top ups as they are so happy with the end result. Let's be honest - 15 minutes to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles and look younger - who doesn't want a piece of that?

Which Areas Can Be Treated With Anti-Wrinkle Treatments?

A quick procedure that delivers a dramatic impact, these treatments can be administered in several areas including:

✓the nose area - to soften 'bunny lines'

✓the lip area - to reduce a 'gummy smile'

✓the forehead - to reduce frown lines

✓the brow area - to lift the brows

✓the eye area - to lessen crow's feet

✓the arm pit - to help with excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis).

How Do Anti Wrinkle Treatments Work?

Anti wrinkle treatments work on the muscles that they are applied into whilst leaving the surrounding muscles unaffected. This means that you may see a reversal of the ageing process in the treated areas, whilst the rest of your face is still able to move naturally. Gone are the days when people used to raise an eyebrow whilst looking at you unable to raise yours - today, anti-ageing treatments are far more natural.

The procedure takes only around 15 minutes which is why many people slot this into their busy schedule, and you can see the full effects around 10 days after your treatment.

Occasionally, a small bruise may occur at the site of the treatment. However, this will be temporary and there will be no other signs that you have undergone this treatment - other than a refreshed, younger look.

Typically, the effects last for three to four months, after which, another treatment is usually required.

You will need to come in for a consultation and health and wellness check before booking in for any anti-ageing treatments.

Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-50521626370462409722023-06-22T08:20:00.000+00:002023-06-25T16:35:46.108+00:00 Lip Fillers

If you were born with thin lips or they have become thinner with age,CP Aesthetics can help if you want natural looking, fuller lips. This is an enzyme that can take up to two weeks to work. It functions by breaking down the bonds of HA, speeding up the body’s natural process. The injected filler will begin to soften and break down almost instantly. Individuals can seek filler dissolving for multiple reasons.

No. of sessions: 1-3 dependant on migration

Treatment time: 30 minutes

Recovery time: 3-5 days

Results duration: Permanent

Often only one dissolve session is required. However, if the area has larger tough nodules or large areas of migration, further dissolve sessions may be advised. If the filler has built up over time and is older, it can cause scar tissue. Frequently, clients expect bigger lips to break down over long periods of time. However, if you have big, hard lips, the enzymes in the body may find it problematic to break down the filler. This can result in your natural hyaluronic acid being broken down as a substitute, which can amplify signs of ageing. We recommend that if you do have migrated filler, you tackle it as soon as possible.

Consultation

Your holistic care and treatment standard are paramount. During your consultation appointment, your medical information will be collected, and your suitability will be assessed for the treatment. You will be required to undergo an intradermal patch test, meaning a tiny pain-free injection in your forearm. We will discuss potential contraindications of the treatment.

After your Treatment

Following your treatment, you may experience some swelling, which will lessen in a few days. Bruising may occur, but this can be disguised with makeup the following day. You will be provided with in-depth aftercare instructions. aesthetics practice from both men and women is along the lines of: “I want
better but natural; I don’t want to look artificial or <i style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">done<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">.” I then try
and<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;"> <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">fulfil <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">this expectation to the best
of my ability by providing a filling or crown that matches the adjacent tooth
colour and shape, or a denture that complements the facial structure, or an
anti-wrinkle injection that softens or removes harsh lines, or a perhaps a
filler which lifts saggy skin and restores facial volume (please note that
although the names of the more commonly used anti-wrinkle and filler treatments
are very well known, it is both illegal and unethical to name prescription
medicines in advertisements and promotional material). Hopefully, at the end of
the treatment, the patient looks in the mirror and says or thinks to
themselves: “That looks better<i style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;"> and<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;"> it looks natural.”

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">But what exactly constitutes ‘natural’? The two
photographs alongside are sometimes mistaken as the same person 30years apart.
In fact, they show a set of identical twins who worked in completely different
environments throughout their lifetime. Twin A spent her working life indoors
out of the sun. Twin B spent her working life outside in the garden in direct
sunlight. Now while these images show
the impact that ultra violet radiation has on the skins aging process, my
question would be which one is natural? Of course they are both natural but one
of them is completely unnecessarily older looking. The benefits of sun
protection are thankfully quite well known now and if you aren’t using a facial
cream which includes a sun protection factor of at least 40 all year round, I
would strongly encourage you to. These photographs however could quite easily
indicate the benefits of the use of anti – wrinkle treatments and fillers.
Although it is not the case, it wouldn’t be at all out of place to suggest that
Twin A has had regular anti – wrinkle and perhaps filler treatment over a
period of years while Twin B preferred to be “natural”.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">What exactly constitutes natural? Teeth with holes in
and indeed teeth that have fallen out are certainly more “natural” than
fillings, dentures or implants – but we live in an age where these artificial
replacements are readily available and we are simply faced with a choice: “Do I
want to stay ‘natural’ or do I want to invest in something that makes me look
better but still ‘natural’?

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">The truth is that for thousands of years both men and
women have used the very latest cosmetic products and procedures to counter the
effects of aging... and this is not always to try and look younger but rather
to try and not look older. So people have applied whatever has been available
and affordable: moisturizers, face masks, hair dyes, make-up, skin lighteners,
false tan, lipstick, sun protection, anti-wrinkle injections, fillers, peels
etc in order to look natural but better. Depending on the fashion, some people
have taken sharp razors or tweezers to their faces, legs or armpits to remove
natural hair; for the last 30 years or so some folk have chosen to have very
short little needles almost painlessly inserted into wrinkled or gravity
affected areas of the face in order to introduce products with clinically
proven safety records (and many thousands of patient satisfaction reports) that
relax tense muscles and rejuvenate the face.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">In the area of anti-wrinkle injections and fillers
some say: “Natural is better,” but I hope I have shown that very few people,
especially here in Norwich, embrace natural when it comes to our faces, we
simply make a series of personal decisions about how much we are prepared to
embrace from the cosmetic market.

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;">

It might be easier to do than you think. While your lifestyle choices (i.e. whether or not you wear sunscreen or smoke) and genetics play a key role in determining how early you’ll start to wrinkle, there’s a few indicators that generally can show whether or not you’re predisposed to premature skin aging.

While these features won’t completely nix your dream for wrinkle-free skin well into your 60s, they do mean you’ll have to treat your skin with extra care in order to keep those fine lines at bay. Ahead, the 11 telltale signs your skin is on the fast track to accelerated aging and how to combat them.

Family History

According to New York plastic surgeon B. Aviva Preminger, MD, some people are simply luckier than others when it comes to aging. “Genetics definitely play a role, and if your mom aged well, you may be more likely to age well, too,” says the doctor, noting that unfortunately, the converse is also true.

Despite this harsh truth, Dr. Preminger says there are ways to avoid harsh aging: “While genetics certainly play a role, there is a lot you can do to take care of your skin to maintain a healthy and youthful appearance and prevent the signs of aging before they happen. I am a proponent of maintenance and prevention, which includes the regular use of sunblock, Botox Cosmetic, a good skin regimen with liberal moisturizer application and occasional facials, peels and laser treatments.”

Poor Diet or Fluctuating Weight

“When you fluctuate in your weight or practice unhealthy diet habits, this can accelerate the signs of aging—think sagging skin, wrinkling and dehydration of the skin,” says Prospect, KY dermatologist Tami Buss Cassis, MD. “I can not stress the term ‘we are what we eat’ enough. Choose wisely or you will see your skin age before your eyes.”

However, Dr. Preminger says that “fuller” is not necessarily a bad thing. “Fuller faces tend to remain more youthful in appearance, and weight loss can actually result in skin laxity and premature aging.”

Thin Skin

“The thinner the dermis, the less elastic and supportive framework there is,” says La Jolla, CA plastic surgeon Joseph Grzekiewicz, MD, who explains that thin skin is especially subject to the normal forces of nature as we age. “This type of skin breaks down faster and loses its tone and thickness. In addition, if the dermis is thin and the skin is fragile, the deeper tissues are too, so that person will not only appear prematurely aged on the surface, but they can also develop sagging of the body, which can make them look older.”

Lighter Features and Freckles

In a study dubbed the Multi-Decade and Ethnicity Study (MDE), researched by Olay, scientists found that the lighter your features, the more likely your skin will age at an accelerated rate. Lighter features typically indicate a paler skin tone, which—as previously noted—is more prone to sun damage (the number-one risk factor for fast-tracked aging.)

“Having less melanin in your skin may also predispose you to premature aging due to photodamage,” says Dr. Preminger. “Rigorous sunblock application is so important in protecting skin from sun damage and photoaging. There is also evidence to suggest racial differences in the amount of collagen present in your skin. The more collagen present, the better you will age.”

History of Sunburns

“The way that solar damage works on our skin is cumulative,” says Dr. Grzekiewicz. “This means that as we incur more and more damage through our lives, the chickens come home to roost in our later years, and our skin starts showing the breakdown and effects of all of those sunburns when we were carefree kids. This is especially the case if the sunburns were more severe, like blistering, peeling burns.”

New York dermatologist Doris Day, MD adds that your skin ages faster if you burn easily. “This is a sign that you are not able to make melanin in response to exposure to UV rays. The melanin selectively absorbs the UV rays and protects the DNA of your skin cells and also the collagen in the layers below. Chronic exposure to the sun will lead to continued breakdown of collagen which will be visible as wrinkles and folds in the skin as well as uneven skin tone from redness and sun spots.”

An Expressive Face

Depending on how often you move your facial muscles (through smiling, raising your eyebrows or frowning), your facial expressions can be causing deep wrinkles over time. As we get older, our skin loses elasticity and the ability to bounce back after making any movements. So, if you’re an extremely expressive person, these lines may start to set in sooner than you’d like.

Dr. Preminger says that there are some parts of the face where expressivity is good, like smile lines, and some parts of the face where facial expressions can age you, like brow furrows. “Usually, these can be prevented or treated with regular use of Botox Cosmetic.”

Dr. Day adds that “using antioxidants along with being sun smart can help keep your skin looking young well into your 80’s.”

Stretch Marks

According to Dr. Grzekiewicz, stretch marks are the visual indication that the elastic and supportive elements of our skin have “fractured under mechanical strain.” He also explains that once stretch marks are apparent, they are very hard to repair. “This same type of process happens not just in the skin where it’s visible, but underneath the skin in the supportive ligaments of our fatty layer, and this is responsible for things like jowls, turkey neck, sagging breasts, sagging tummy, bra line, arm or thigh tissues and the like,” says the doctor. “People often think that liposuction is the answer, but it’s not. It’s an issue of tone and strength of the tissues. If striae appear early, it may be an indication that your body will look old before its time.”

The Little Things

New York plastic surgeon Mokhtar Asaadi, MD offers a few signs that your body is starting to age: “Sagging breasts, sagging arms, loss of fullness in the cheeks, more nasal and ear hair in men, puffiness of the lower eyelids, dropping of the nasal tip, less scalp hair and bad posture.”

Skin Conditions

Skin conditions, like eczema, that reveal themselves as inflamed, dry patches of skin, are typically indicators that your face will start to appear older than your age early on. Because hydrated skin has the ability to rapidly repair itself and stay healthier for longer (the reason why moisturizers help delay signs of aging so well), these conditions prevent skin from functioning at its peak performance and hinder its ability to recover itself properly, leading to fine lines.

Pale Skin

The obvious truth about pale skin is that it’s extremely prone to burning in the sun. Considering the detrimental effects that the sun can have on our skin, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that lighter skin tones typically ages faster than darker ones. “More photoaging occurs in pale skin, as there is less protection from UV damage,” explains Dr. Alexa B. Kimball, professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School. Darker pigmentation acts as a natural protectant from the sun’s harsh rays, so the paler the skin, the more likely you’ll develop hyperpigmentation and early-onset wrinkles.

Naturally Dry Skin

“The drier the outer skin layers, the stiffer they are,” explains Dr. Kimball. “If well-moisturized, skin is more elastic and thereby diminishes the formation of temporary wrinkles during facial expression that will ultimately lead to persistent wrinkles.” Translation? Expressions obviously causes wrinkles, but creating expressions with dry skin can cause them to become permanent much quicker due to the lack of the skin’s elasticity.
Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-72855155884609801452022-12-30T17:27:00.005+00:002023-06-25T00:00:51.941+00:007 Things You Need to Know Before Your First Injectable

This is from New Beauty [Read original article here]:

Whether it’s your first time or your next time, many patients continue to turn to injectables to reshape and rejuvenate. Here, we asked top expert injectors which questions first-time patients should ask their doctor before or during their visit.

1. What are your qualifications?

“Much of the result will be due to who did your injections rather than which product they used. You’re going to want a board-certified physician who specializes in aesthetic treatments to perform your treatments,” says New York dermatologist Orit Markowitz, MD. Seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon, dermatologist and oculoplastic surgeon who is properly qualified to perform injectable procedures. “This is step one,” adds Dr. Markowitz.

2. Which medicines should I avoid before my treatment?

“If you’re having an injectable treatment that can cause bruising, you’re going to want to avoid aspirin, Advil, fish oil, or any blood thinners,” notes New York dermatologist Doris Day, MD. “Also, excess vitamin E or green tea pills. You can eat the foods, but don’t take the supplements two weeks before your appointment because it can make bruising appear worse.”

3. What are my options to treat this main concern?

Dr. Markowitz says it’s always better to ask about what you’re trying to accomplish instead of treating a particular area or chasing a line or wrinkle. “If you’re feeling tired, for example, or you feel that you look tired, ask your doctor to share the things that can alleviate that,” she says. “Focus on what the concern is, rather than what the particular treatment is. Whether the approach is with technology and filler, or whether it’s something that can be accomplished with neurotoxin, then you should ask what kind and how much.”

4. How far in advance of my event should I have my treatment?

“For many neurotoxin virgins, it finally becomes ‘time’ to start using a neurotoxin in the days or weeks leading up to an important event, such as a wedding or a landmark birthday like turning 30 or 40 for instance,” Dover, OH, facial plastic surgeon David Hartman, MD, says. “For injectables, schedule your treatment at least three weeks to a month before a major event. Swelling and bruising will go down and the results will begin to appear gradually during that time.”

5. Should I bring old photographs with me?

According to Dr. Day, bringing a photo of your younger self can help the doctor visualize your treatment. “Depending on how old you are, ask if you should bring a picture with you of when you were younger so they can have a comparison,” she explains. “This will give a better idea of what we’re trying to recreate and restore, and can even help tell the doctor how your face moves and expresses.”

6. When should I come back?

Lastly, the doctors we spoke with noted that many times it will take a combination approach that uses multiple modalities to achieve the best result. While neurotoxin injections results may start to fade in four to six months, dermal filler has a longer lifespan. “Your expert injector will tell you when to come back for maintenance based on your entire treatment plan,” explains Dr. Hartman. “So, it’s best to schedule your next appointment based on what your injector says, depending on which products were used, how much was injected and what other treatments were performed.”

This is a similar article, also from New Beauty [Read full article here]

You never forget your first time and whether it’s a little wrinkle relaxer in the forehead or a syringe full of lip-plumping filler, the more you know the better it will go. Here, expert injectors share their top tips for first-timers on how to get the best results with the least amount of side effects.

The Two-Week Rule

Have an important event coming up? A birthday, vacation, graduation, or wedding that you want to look good for? According to Rochester, NY dermatologist Lesley Loss, MD you’re going to want to give yourself a minimum of two weeks so your results have time to settle. “If possible, two to four weeks prior to any event is ideal,” explains Dr. Loss. “With injectable fillers, there is usually some temporary swelling and occasionally bruising that can take time to resolve. With neurotoxins, it takes two weeks for the full effect of the treatment. Sometimes four weeks is best for fillers or toxin so there is time for a touchup if needed.”

Sore Subject

If you have a history of cold sores, New York dermatologist Doris Day, MD says you should let your injector know ahead of time as you may need medication beforehand to prevent a cold sore. “I recommend taking Valtrex if you are prone to outbreaks, especially if you are getting fillers in the lips.”

Sure Shot

Dr. Day also notes that if you’re planning on getting vaccinated, the best advice is to hold off for a little while before going in for injectables as they may weaken the immune system temporarily: “I usually avoid doing fillers for two weeks before or after any vaccines,” she says. “I have no issues with doing fillers the day after dental work though.”

Sun and Sleep

Miami dermatologist Annie Gonzalez, MD says to pay attention to how you sleep and the time spent in direct sunlight to avoid further skin aging. “I advise sleeping on your back, as sometimes your sleeping side may show earlier signs of sagging and create vertical creases on the forehead,” she says. “I also recommend wearing daily sunscreen, even on your drive to work, as we’ve all seen how the driving side can age more rapidly and have more sunspots and wrinkles.”

Skip Harsh Actives

“While every injectable procedure carries specific set of recommendations, there are certain recommendations that extend across the entire spectrum of injectable treatments,” adds New York oculoplastic surgeon Irene Gladstein, MD. “Those recommendations include skipping harsh peels and high concentration retinols at least several days before the injections and avoiding unprotected exposure to the sun.”

Banish Bruising

To prevent bruising, Charlotte, NC dermatologist Gilly Munavalli, MD says to stop taking multivitamins, fish oil, non-medical aspirin or NSAIDS a week before your injectable appointment and avoid alcohol 24 hours prior your appointment. “After treatment we can use pulse dye laser and arnica pads to greatly reduce post-treatment bruising and swelling,” he says. “Pulsed dye is done 48-hours after treatment if necessary, to hasten the disappearance of bruising,” he explains. “Some doctors will offer this to patients as part of their filler treatment.”

Limit Movement

Omaha, NE dermatologist Joel Schlessinger, MD says to avoid exercise after injections for at least the day of your treatment. “Sometimes, a small vessel is slightly traumatized, but not enough to cause a bruise at the time of the injections, but exercise can lead to a full-fledged bruise,” he explains. “It’s best to wait to do anything that involves bending, straining or excessive pressure until the next day.”

Dr. Schlessinger also advises to postpone any facial or body treatments that can interfere with results: “Hold off on any massages until a day or two after the procedure and absolutely avoid facials for a week or so after any fillers as they can displace areas where fillers were injected.”

See an Expert Injector

More important than any other tip says Dover, OH facial plastic surgeon David Hartman, MD, is the assurance that a trained and experienced professional is doing your treatment. “By far, the majority of problems encountered in use of neurotoxins and fillers occur at the hands of novice injectors who simply don’t have a working understanding of the underlying anatomy of the face and don’t have a working knowledge of the particular advantages or disadvantages of the various fillers and neurotoxins,” he explains.

“Even the minor potential problems such as bruising, swelling, pain, ‘brow heaviness,’ asymmetries, or over treatment are far less likely to occur when your injector is knowledgeable, highly-trained and experienced.”
Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-57170585034763312462022-12-29T17:21:00.005+00:002023-06-25T00:00:34.114+00:00Signs It Might Be Time to Consider Injectable Wrinkle-Reducers<div class="separator" style="clear: both; I had just turned 40 and attended a friend’s 32nd birthday dinner where many of the attendees—most of which were in their late 20s and early 30s—had already tried their hand at a little injectable intervention. That’s when I said to myself: “What are you waiting for?” I had seen my first few lines cropping up on my forehead years before, but peer pressure was a big deciding factor for me. If younger women were doing it and looked so great, why was I ruminating in the mirror about it for so long? Looking back, I had no regrets, except one: why did I wait so long to do something preventative?

So what should you look for when trying to plan your first wrinkle-relaxer treatment if you’re on the fence? We asked top expert-injectors to share the advice they give to their patients about when to know when it’s time for neurotoxin.

When Lines Expression Lines are Visible, Even When You’re Not Expressing

To prevent lines from getting so deep they’re resistant to injectable treatment, it’s best to start as soon as you see the lines begin to set in, if not sooner. “As we age, it is very normal to see creases when a person moves one’s face,” explains New York dermatologist Jody Levine, MD. “Some people like to start neurotoxin ahead of seeing these lines of expression, and that is a personal preference. But the time when I tell people that it is time to start neurotoxin, if one hasn’t started already, is when dynamic wrinkles—lines that are made from facial movements—are present even in the static state when not making an expression.”

When Your Brow Begins to Fall Causing Hooded Eyes

West Palm Beach, FL dermatologist Kenneth R. Beer, MD says if you need to use your hand to pull your eyelid up, you may be a candidate for a browlift using neurotoxin: “This involves injecting directly between the brows to relax the muscles underneath, this allows the upper forehead muscles to ‘pull’ the brows back up and the skin to smooth out.”

When You Actually Can See the Number 11 Forming Between Your Eyes

According to Miami dermatologist Dr. Deborah Longwill , it’s a numbers game and that number is 11. “You may start noticing frowning lines developing between your eyes that may look like the number 11. I recommend treating that area with neurotoxin before the 11’s set in.” While Dr. Longwill and our experts say immediate improvement can be seen with neurotoxin, once those lines set in and become too deep, they may be hard to smooth away with wrinkle relaxers alone. “This area is a good place to start prejuvenation treatments,” she says.

When You Smile and See Visible Lines Radiating Around Your Eyes

New York oculoplastic surgeon Irene Gladstein, MD notes that crow’s feet are another concern that should be treated early. “The top sign for needing neurotoxin injection is the evidence of muscles contracting and moving. We are strong advocates of not injecting immobile muscles even if it’s ‘time’ to do so.” Dr. Gladstien adds that a few painless, masterfully placed injections will prevent the crow’s feet from forming while preserving the natural expressions of your face.

You’ve Been Wanting to Try It

As Dr. Beer says, if you “survived a year in the house with your family, have a pulse and a credit card,” it may be time to try neurotoxin. All joke’s aside, the great thing about wrinkle relaxers is that results are temporary. While they may not be the answer to every anti-aging concern, our experts say you can try them and simply pause further treatment if you’re not happy.

“However, if your friends and family think you always look angry or are asking if you would like the name of a good dermatologist or plastic surgeon, it may finally be time to give neurotoxins a try,” adds Dr. Beer.

Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-64257357427566270842022-12-26T18:24:00.004+00:002023-06-25T00:00:17.314+00:00Introduction to 12 Days Of Christmas

I have been blogging since 2009 but have recently found that although my blog attracts about 1500 visitors a month, very few of them are visits to my Aesthetic posts

I am therefore in the process of transferring some of those posts to my Instagram account.
Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-82002914502738234622022-10-22T17:01:00.005+00:002023-03-27T14:28:38.934+00:00Botox® OR Filler? Today, Botox® and fillers are injectable treatments commonly paired together that aim for a natural, younger-looking appearance without surgery or downtime. So common, in fact, that more than 10.4 million Botox® and filler treatments were performed in 2019! Trust me, this is a trend that you do NOT want to miss out on.

Why Pair Botox® + Filler?

1. Address multiple skin concerns at once

As a general rule, lines of expression require Botox®, while lines at rest need filler. Botox® relaxes the dynamic muscles that cause creases and wrinkles, while filler is best for deeper lines that are apparent even when facial muscles are not contracting. Filler can also replace lost volume and help to add contour and definition to the face.

2. Enhance different areas of the face

Traditionally, Botox® has been injected in the upper face to correct frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines, also known as the “11s”), forehead lines, and crows feet around the eyes. Newer uses of Botox® include the popular “lip flip” to create a fuller upper lip, injecting along the jawline to enhance the shape of the face, and injecting in the neck to erase necklines.

Filler, on the other hand, is typically used in the lower face. At CP Aesthetics, I utilize the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers – including JUVÉDERM® Voluma XC, JUVÉDERM® XC, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC & JUVÉDERM® Volbella XC. While your provider can help determine which is the best product to use to meet your individual goals, these fillers are used to address:

Fill nasolabial folds (known as smile lines)

Address marionette lines that run straight downwards from the corners of the mouth

Restore age-related volume loss in the temples and cheekbones

Fill in vertical lines and wrinkles around the mouth and eye area

To plump the lips.

3. The results will last longer

Filler does not tend to last as long in areas of the face that are in frequent motion, such as around the mouth. The hyaluronic acid in fillers is less likely to break down when facial muscle movement is inhibited by Botox®. But, if any female friends were to ask, you should say you did it to get ahead in your career.

This is because women judged those who had anti-ageing procedures more harshly if it was to help them find a partner rather than to feel better about themselves or for work reasons, a study has suggested.

Researchers studied the reactions of 306 men and women to different scenarios in which middle-aged women had used cosmetic treatments, such as Botox injections and dermal fillers. While men judged women the same regardless of the reasons behind their anti-ageing endeavours, women took their specific motivations into account.

The participants were told for example: “Beth is a middle-aged woman who wants to maintain a more youthful appearance to look for a romantic partner. She rose to fame with Susannah Constantine on the BBC makeover show What Not to Wear and founded her own beauty and skincare brand, Trinny London, in 2017. She has a daughter, Lyla, 18, from her first marriage, and lives in London with her boyfriend, the businessman Charles Saatchi.

Cancel culture is causing women in their fifties to lose their voice. Our children are telling us the language. I find it easier because I work with girls in their twenties and thirties, so I have more awareness. But older women are so scared to say the wrong thing, they don’t say anything.

I don’t do Botox to look young. I do it not to look tired. If I look in the mirror and feel awake and alert, I will be awake and alert. If I look exhausted, I feel it. I want to feel full of energy – that’s all it is.

I’ve been hard up so many times. My dad lost all his money when I was 18, so I couldn’t go to university. When I went into recovery [for cocaine and alcohol addiction] at 28, I started with no money again. After What Not to Wear, I was suddenly in a house with a mortgage I couldn’t afford. I had to sell it to clear my debt.

People still assume Trinny London is funded by my boyfriend. The reality is that I have shed blood, sweat and tears on it during a very difficult time in my life. It used to upset me. You don’t want anybody to make assumptions you know are incorrect. I used to fight them really hard. Now I think: that is your shit, not mine.

I’ve always wanted to be noticed. I am the youngest of six – I had to fight my corner. I can spot an only child because they never had to compete. They believe in themselves. My daughter, Lyla, is an only child, though she would say I’ve got two children – her and Trinny London. But she has unbelievable self-confidence. I think, where do you get that from?

I had nine rounds of IVF and two miscarriages before having Lyla. It was tough. Susannah was having baby after baby really easily and I was losing them. The moment I let go of hope, I fell pregnant via intrauterine insemination. I didn’t believe it. I was so paranoid, I went for a scan every single week.

When my ex-husband [Johnny Elichaoff] died, I had to become a mother and a father. I have to be both tough and empathetic. But it means Lyla and I are very close. It makes us resolve arguments. It means we have to be a bit more grown-up.

I became addicted to cocaine because I had a total lack of confidence. I was very insecure and unappealing. I had bad acne. I finally stopped because I didn’t recognise myself. I was so detached from life; I had no feelings. That is a scary thing.

I sold jewellery to pay for rehab. When I went the first time, my parents had sold a table to Sotheby’s to fund it. It was always referred to as “the table we sold”. I never wanted that situation again. I wanted to pay for it myself.

I had to learn to be good in the boardroom. Whenever a man says to me, “Oh, you’re a CEO who actually runs the company?” I go, “Would you ever ask a man that?” Only 2 per cent of venture-capital money went to female-founded brands last year. It horrifies me.

I am more sensitive now than when we did What Not to Wear. But that is the show television executives would want today. It was a great talking point and it delivered ratings. We had eight million viewers.

Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-66002689570633260392022-05-26T06:33:00.000+00:002023-05-26T06:44:35.609+00:00 Masseter Muscle Botox

Jaw pain can have physical and emotional impact on your life, but there are cosmetic treatments available, including jaw Botox.

It can be caused by many reasons. Sometimes jaw pain can interfere with the daily activities due to the extreme pain. Discover the main cause that can result in jaw pain and how it can be treated.

Grouped into two parts, the vast area connecting to the cheekbone is bulkier for some people, which causes them to have portions of the masseter eliminated surgically. Nonetheless, did you know that there’s a non-surgical way to do that?

That’s where non surgical Botox injections come to the rescue to offer treatment to minimise the width and flare of your jawline, making a more symmetrical, pleasing look. Most essentially, Botox creates long-lasting outcomes without sacrificing your jawbone’s strength.

When properly injected with a masseter botulinum toxin injection, Botox weakens the chewing muscles or masseter. In turn, that creates a softer and slimmer jawline.

Botox masseter injections at CPAesthetics can help reduce and even prevent the pain caused by masseter muscle hypertrophy.

How Do You Know If You Need Botulinum Toxin Treatment?

Many people do not associate their jawline with any cosmetic concern or ageing. When they think of an aged faces, they often imagine wrinkles. They imagine fine line, especially the frown lines in the middle of their forehead.

However, a younger face is more likely to be the narrowest around the chin and jaw and the widest around the eyes above the cheek. Your masseter muscles square off or widen at the jawline as you get older. That could first be noticed between your twenty to forty years.

Masseter Muscle Botox injection are highly advantageous to people who would want to angular or narrow their lower face. That’s especially true for people who do not love the shape of their face because of a thick or square jawline and wants a more feminine appearance.

The relative thickness of your masseter could be identified by feeling your outer jawline as you bite down hard.

If your jaw is clenched or you clench your teeth, there’s a chance you could benefit from a Botox to the masseter muscle.

Symptoms Of Jaw Pain

Symptoms of jaw pain include aching pain in or around the jaw, the face and the neck. Pain can be caused by various condition, including temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), bruxism (teeth grinding), tooth decay, dental abscesses, sinus infections, ear infections, stress and anxiety.

Symptoms associated with jaw pain include;

Aching pain in the face or jaw

Soreness of the face

Difficulty opening and closing the mouth

Inability to chew food properly

Earache

Headache

Neck ache

People who have these symptoms may benefit from a Botox injection. A comfortable masseter helps lower overall tension in your face.

It’s worth mentioning that both men and women can be great candidates for this treatment.

How Much Does Botulinum Toxin Reduce The Masseter?

The masseter muscle can be significantly lowered using a non-surgical treatments like botulinum toxin treatment—more widely known as Botox. The muscle botulinum toxin process is non-invasive as it includes a set of botulinum toxin injections placed into the masseter muscle

The treatment is done over a few sessions with small doses of Botox until the masseter has lowered down by degrees to the desired look. Also, the number of sessions will vary depending on your reaction to the treatment. A lot of people may only require one or two sessions. Others may need three or four to accomplish their desired results.

In three months or so, it is highly possible to minimise the masseter muscle volume by thirty per cent. That makes your face look more V-shaped and slimmer.

How Long Does Botulinum Toxin Injection Last?

Masseteric muscles label Botox could last at least four to six months after gradually returning to its original form. Nonetheless, ongoing treatments of injecting Botox to the muscle to relax them will lead to them slowly losing the grinding habit.

What Can I Not Do After the procedure?

Botox is an excellent treatment for masseter. However, the impacts do wear off as your body degrades it. Learn that you can’t make it last longer, but you could do things that could extend the length of its effect.

Here are some things you should avoid after getting a masseter Botulinum toxin, and you can do to help your Botox last longer.

Avoid strenuous activities or getting exposed to too much heat

For the first twenty hours of getting a masseter muscle Botox, you should stay away from hot yoga, saunas, strenuous exercising or intense facial massages. All those activities could potentially cause the Botox to migrate to other areas of your face.

That could lead to eyelid dropping, temporary facial paralysis, or other unpleasant effects. It might help if you sleep on your back in a somewhat elevated position for the first-night post-injection.

Stay away from sunbeds and sun

Remember that sun damage causes premature wrinkles. Botox is inefficient against those skin-damaged wrinkles as they don’t involve the underlying muscle. Make sure you always wear SPF sunscreen on your neck and face every day. Keep your results a little longer by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen and preventing the outdoors during peak UV hours.

Don’t forget your maintenance treatments

The ideal way to expand the life of your masseter muscles Botox results is to undergo a maintenance treatments. Always schedule your appointments before your results wear off.

Frequent Botox treatments are helpful as they will train the targeted muscle to respond to the neurotoxin for an extended time. However, you should not overdo it as well. Too many treatments can make your muscle resist Botox or react negatively.

The number of units you will get will be based on your requirements. Other patients may require more than the suggested guideline to treat their problems. Men are more likely to have solid facial muscle. That indicates it will take more Botox so it can penetrate such muscle.

One thing is for sure; no two people are the same, and the units required will be according to their requirements of dose.

Final Thoughts on Botulinum Toxin procedure

A masseter botox injections will help weaken your injected part over time. You can think of the procedure as a soothing temporary vacation for the muscle. Further, the visual effect is a decrease in the enlarged or flared nature of the jawline, which can be attributed to the relaxation of the masseteric Musculature. Within a week or two, many patients find their masseteric Musculature to feel softer when they touch or bite down.

A more rounded jawline, resulting from the decreased prominence of the masseteric Musculature, is typically noticeable within six weeks.

Masseteric Musculature injection must be repeated every three months to six months to keep the result on the muscle. Nonetheless, upkeep could be spaced out to nine to twelve-month intervals after multiple sessions.
Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-68284930008014738182022-03-27T00:36:00.001+00:002023-03-27T14:33:26.687+00:00Can Botox Help Depression & Make You Feel Happier
Let’s face it, we could all benefit from being in a better mood, especially after the COVID Lockdowns , worries about climate change, rising energy costs, war in Ukraine and the thoughts of a cold dark winter ahead!

Many of us who are usually happy go lucky by nature are now feeling a bit weary and totally fed-up.

We all know about the ‘Look Good, Feel Good’ philosophy. One man who represented himself as a doctor but is not registered with the General Medical Council advised a female reporter to have 22 injections of an unlicensed product.

After the investigation was published Javid said that the practices uncovered were “totally unacceptable”. An inquiry has been opened by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency. An amendment to the Health and Care Bill going through parliament, tabled today, would enable Javid to introduce a licensing regime for Botox and fillers.

Details of the regulations will be determined through public consultation. The government made it illegal last year to administer non-surgical cosmetic treatments and advertise them to people younger than 18.

Javid said: “The Times has done some excellent work shining a light on this important issue. Far too many people have been left emotionally and physically scarred after botched cosmetic procedures.”

The licensing scheme will introduce consistent standards for non-surgical cosmetic procedures and set out hygiene and safety standards for the premises where they are performed.

The Department of Health and Social Care said it would focus on procedures that could cause harm.

Surgeons urged the government to go further in its oversight of the cosmetic treatments sector.

Professor Vivien Lees, a consultant plastic surgeon and council member at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, said: “This is a step in the right direction in ensuring individuals who carry out non-surgical cosmetic procedures such as Botox and fillers, will have to meet consistent safety standards. Yesterday Sajid Javid, the health secretary, tabled an amendment to the Health and Care Bill going through parliament that would allow him to introduce a licensing regime for Botox and fillers.

This is the right way forward and Mr Javid deserves credit for acting so quickly after our investigation. Botox and other licensed brands of the botulinum toxin are rightly available in Britain only on prescription. What’s more, although beauticians can administer the injections, they have to be trained. These are sensible safeguards. Campaigners say there were 270 complaints of botched treatments in 2020, up from 210 the year before, with side effects including large sores and even permanent disfigurement.

Yet this newspaper found beauticians on social media offering treatments using cheaper versions of Botox that have not been licensed for sale in Britain and have not gone through safety checks in this country. At one beauty clinic inYorkshire, a man who presented himself as a doctor but is not registered with the General Medical Council tried to convince our reporter to have 25 injections of an unlicensed product in her face.

The proposed licensing scheme would introduce consistent standards for cosmetic procedures and safety standards for the premises where they are performed. There is a case for going further and requiring all doctors who carry out such procedures to be given training. Meanwhile the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency is conducting its own investigation of our findings. There should be no place for “black market” treatments in Britain’s beauty salons.

Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5014913032968947038.post-74556991875563849682021-09-04T13:25:00.004+00:002023-03-27T14:37:00.295+00:00Would You Like the Injectable Products Used on/in Your Face to have been tested on Humans?

You should always know what products are used in your unique treatment plan and one of the things you might want to know, which I believe you should insist on knowing, is whether they have undergone clinical trials on humans.

There are several differences between the European and American standards, but for me this is the main one ... has this product been proved safe over time in humans? I'll quote it in full and insert my comments : Thanks to a regular weekend course I am taking, I have spent a lot of time with a group of people, mainly women, in their early thirties. No surprise that their faces are considerably less lined than a 49-year-old’s. But I couldn’t cover up my shock when one of them told me this week that she has regular Botox injections. And a couple more — a woman and a man — said they were thinking about starting.

So I began to look more closely at the 15 or so foreheads in the room. I came to realise, courtesy of those inescapable Botox signatures — an eerie smoothness, a Pledge-like shininess, an apparent expansion of the entire area so as to resemble a grapefruit — that I, among the oldest there, was one of the few whose face has not been injected with a substance made from a toxin produced by the bacterium that causes botulism. My comment would be that the look she describes is plain and simply not true of well administered botox treatments

I am used to being the odd one out. I am a regular on the front row, after all. What I am not used to is being that exception when hanging out with people a generation younger than me. I don’t judge anyone for what they do to their face, and understand the pressures people feel in a society in which age, and the lines that come with it, equates, preposterously, to bad.

Your face is a book that’s there to be read. Erasing your lines erases your story. Nor does doing so make you look younger — just Botoxed. To embark on that at all is, I believe, misplaced. To do so at such a young age, so that by the time you are my age you have lost sight of your true face, strikes me as tragic. And don’t even get me started on the twentysomethings of Love Island.

This week a plastic surgeon chastised his industry for creating a “twisted standard of beauty” in which maximalism is the “new normal”. Yet even the supposedly minimalist approach leads, as the years and the injections and the muscular paralysis tick by, to cookie-cutter faces straight out of The Stepford Wives. As the resolutely unengineered 99-year-old fashion plate Iris Apfel once said: “Some very important people I know have ended up looking like a Picasso.” Naturalness is not just a matter of aesthetics. It’s existential." My comment here would be: What exactly is "natural" ... does natural mean NO PRODUCTS applied to the face or teeth ... eg creams, cleansers, toothpaste? According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there were more than 4 million injections of neurotoxin performed last year, and nearly 3.5 million filler injections, making them the top two most popular noninvasive cosmetic treatments in the country.

Read original article in New Beauty here.

If you’re one of the millions ready for injectables and you don’t know the difference between Juvéderm and Jeuveau, that’s OK. While it’s helpful to know your fillers from your wrinkle-relaxers before you head into an appointment, it’s more important that you choose the right injector and ask the right questions, because ultimately, they’re the ones yielding the needle.

Cedrichttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11480470538978583287noreply@blogger.com
