Creation Walk 3: Reflections

Some particular reflections

The broad way is much easier isn’t it?
‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.’ Mt 7:13-14
Lord, please show me where I am walking on a broad road and bring me back on the strait and narrow (The older translation from which we get the idiom reads: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.)

Deforestation, either through lumbering or deliberate burning of rainforests for grazing cattle, is currently progressing at an average rate of a football field per minute” (Kingdom Ethics 2016 pg384). Should we care?

Forests that it took nature centuries to grow are destroyed in the blink of an eye – and the burning adds carbon dioxide to the air, increasing global warming.” Should we care?

Why has this healthy looking plant got a dead branch?
What’s eating you?

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ (Is 30:21) Isn’t this good news? Do you know that voice? How can you become more attentive to His voice?

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Psalm 42:1-2     Is this true of you?

This is true: He leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul (Psalm 23:2)  Isn’t this good news? How is your soul?
