Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of your great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
[From Book of Common Prayer]
In preparation for our Harvest and Thanksgiving Service on 26 October here in Alberton, South
Africa, I invited folk to submit any of their thanksgivings for inclusion on the day. The response was quite overwhelming and very encouraging as all of the prayers reflect a desire to thank our LORD for what He does and has done. It's also humbling and convicting to hear folk thanking God for things that so many normally take for granted. I believe the desire to be thankful was part of what made our celebration so special
Sharon, Kelli and
Amber give thanks for the special man God has blessed us with. We give thanks for the happiness, love, care,
generosity and guidance Clifford has brought into our lives. We know the best is yet to come and we will
not forget to give praise and glory to our Lord for these blessings. PSALM 95: 2 -3 “Let us come before Him with
thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.”
